Wyckoff Turns 100 This Month: Your Guide to the June 27 Centennial Street Fair and Fireworks
Street fair on Main Street from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., fireworks at Memorial Field from 6 to 10 p.m. — here is what you need to know before you go.
Wyckoff marks its 100th year this month with a two-part day on Saturday, June 27: a street fair on Main Street in the afternoon and a fireworks celebration at Memorial Field in the evening. Both events are free and open to the public, organized in partnership with the Wyckoff Community Foundation Inc. and authorized by the Township Committee on June 9th.[1]
The street fair runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Main Street will be closed to traffic from its start through Clinton Avenue. Along the route you will find vendor booths, food vendors, a Ferris wheel, and live music from Side Hustle, plus a beer garden on site. The police field parking lot is open for event parking.[2]
The street fair ends at 4 p.m. and the fireworks do not start until 6 p.m. That window is a good time to grab dinner at nearby Boulder Run or on Wyckoff Avenue — or explore the local shops still open along Main Street after the fair wraps up. A guide to Wyckoff businesses on centennial day is coming next week on wyckoffnews.com.
The fireworks celebration runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Memorial Field. The evening lineup includes a fireworks display, live music from The Band Project and Long Road Home, a DJ, food vendors, amusement rides, and a beer garden. Proceeds from the fireworks event benefit the Wyckoff Fire Companies. Memorial Field will be closed to the public starting at noon while the event is set up — plan to arrive once gates open in the early evening.
Road closures for the fireworks will include portions of Franklin Avenue, Monroe Avenue, Voorhis Avenue, Woodland Avenue, Scott Plaza, and surrounding roads as determined by the police. If Franklin Avenue is your usual route to Memorial Field, plan an alternate.
Committeeman Pete Melchionne noted at the June 9th meeting that a centennial monument is also in the works for outside Town Hall, with installation expected in the fall.[3]
All township fees for both events have been waived. For the latest on gate times, parking, and vendors, check wyckoffnj.gov.
