Wyckoff police issued summonses to 13 property owners and tenants on January 31 for failing to clear snow and ice from sidewalks adjacent to their properties following a winter storm, according to a department press release.

Township Ordinance 165-1 requires owners and tenants of land abutting public streets to remove snow and ice from sidewalks within 12 hours of daylight after it falls. Enforcement begins only upon a written order from the Chief of Police, who must consider the severity of the snowfall and the reasonable opportunity for property owners to clear the walkways. Those receiving summonses are required to appear in Municipal Court and face fines not exceeding $500. [1]

The release also described a bank check fraud case that took two months to resolve. On December 7, 2025, Det. Sgt. Michael Ragucci began investigating a stolen and fraudulent bank check deposit. On February 3, he charged Jessica Jackson, 31, of Paterson, with one count of theft. She was processed at headquarters and released pending a court date. [1]

A DWI arrest occurred on January 24 at approximately 4:30 a.m., when P.O. Kevin Oldewurtel observed a vehicle parked on the sidewalk on Sicomac Avenue. After speaking with the driver, Colleen Careri, 39, of Ridgewood, and detecting signs of impairment, Oldewurtel placed her under arrest. She was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to chemical breath testing, failure to obey traffic markings, reckless driving, and improper parking on a sidewalk. Her vehicle was impounded under John's Law. [1]

Three shoplifting warrants were also issued in January. P.O. James Bakelaar investigated a January 4 Stop & Shop theft and issued a warrant for Marissa Mango, 36, of East Windsor. A second warrant from a January 5 Stop & Shop shoplifting involving three suspects was issued for Romir J. Green, 27, of Brooklyn. [1]

On February 6, Carol L. Miglin, 69, of Wayne, was arrested at ShopRite and charged with shoplifting. She was also issued a no-trespass order by the store. [2]
